COhatch’s second Atlanta-area location set to open in Lawrenceville, GA, in 2025

COhatch takes over former Sosebee Auto Supply to create an impact-focused community space for local startups, nonprofits and businesses

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, July 30, 2024 – COhatch, an innovative community and shared workspace company based out of Columbus, Ohio, has officially begun construction at 190 South Clayton St. to bring their vision of an integrated community space to Lawrenceville. 

Matt Davis, COhatch’s CEO and co-founder, says, “We’ve been looking for locations around Atlanta and this building really spoke to us. Our goal is to always create community spaces that are inspiring, in the heart of neighborhoods, where being a part of our ecosystem is accessible for all walks of life. We are excited to bring coworking, meeting, and event space to the Lawrenceville community in a different way that makes working, connecting, and living easier every day.”

The building was owned previously by the Sosebee family for over 50 years where they operated Sosebee Auto Supply which is the largest independent auto supply store in Gwinnett County.  Even though COhatch is taking over the building at 190 South Clayton St., Sosebee Auto Supply will continue to do business down the street at 905 Grayson Highway, Suite B, as its been a community staple in the neighborhood for decades. COhatch hopes to continue the legacy of using this beloved building. They will be reutilizing the 10,150 square foot building and creating coworking space, 30 private offices, 4 meeting rooms, and event space including outdoor seating for work or play on the patio.

The COhatch team has spent the last few months working with the city of Lawrenceville to ensure that this renovation will be one that brings the neighborhood together. “We are thrilled to welcome COhatch to Downtown Lawrenceville,” said Mayor David Still. “They have recognized the significance of the building’s location and collaborated with our Downtown Development Authority and Arts Commission to create a vibrant design, even incorporating a mural that complements our urban atmosphere.”

Currently, the building is already under construction and the COhatch team estimates that the project will be completed in Q1 of 2025. With this additional location and the recent opening of their Duluth location, the Atlanta metropolitan area will now be home to two COhatch locations with a goal of 10-12 more locations in the coming years. Members at the Lawrenceville location will also have access to all other COhatch locations across the country including Duluth which is roughly a 20 minute commute.

While under construction COhatch is looking for local startups and nonprofits to be a part of the founding community. The Lawrenceville location will be offering scholarships to the location, giving those who need access to connect, collaborate, and innovate together inside the space the option to be a part of the community.
