On Tuesday, March 8th, the COhatch team, members, and others in the community gathered at COhatch The Gateway to celebrate all the wonderful women in our community for International Women’s Day! The event featured a panel of three speakers, appetizers and drinks from local companies, an Impact Fair, and a networking reception.
The panel included Deonna Barnett, VP of Programming at NAWBO, plus CEO and Managing Consultant at Aventi Enterprises; Mary McCarthy, Co-Founder of The Women’s Small Business Accelerator; and Anique Russell, Co-Founder of Too Good Eats. The women spoke on how they got their businesses off the ground, challenges they’ve overcome and more, ending with an interactive Q&A with the attendees.
Guests enjoyed food and drinks while they mingled, including snacks and appetizers from Tulip Café, along with popsicles and fruit juices from Too Good Eats.
During the Impact Fair, attendees got the chance to support local women-owned and -led businesses: Petals That Inspire, Black Tech Columbus, ReynCon and EmpoWE-R Women of InfoSec, Columbus Foodscapes, and LTBL Energy.
Following the event, guests were invited to mingle with other professionals at the networking reception to close out the evening!
Thank you to all who attended and participated, and a special shoutout to all of the amazing women in the COhatch community!
